Kristal Reed

I was born and raised in Texas, the great state from which I draw much of my artistic inspiration. Inspired by nature early on in life, I have been making some form of artwork since I was five years old. My goal is to make the world a brighter place, one piece of artwork at a time.

I went to Foster High School and graduated from The University of Texas at San Antonio with a Bachelor of Science in Biology.

Maurice Levine (Maury)
As early as I can remember, I have always had a love for art.  My mother who was a wonderful artist sent me to Della Deshaun, a well-known artist and teacher in Hollywood, California.  She taught me pen and ink, pastels, oil painting and sculpting.  Later I studied oil painting and sculpting at the Otis Art Institute in Los Angeles, California.

I graduated from Dental Laboratory School in the Army in where I learned to work with wax.  I feel I get more detail with wax than I did with clay, in  my sculptures.
After ten years in Los Angeles doing dental laboratory work, I started working with Riverside Manufactured Company as a salesman for 43 years.  I sculpted in my spare tiem and gave all my bronzes away to friends, grandsons, nephews and nieces.

My bronze replication of the Charles M. Russell's Oil painting of "The Hold Up" was appraised for $45,000 by the Foundry.
