As most of you know, Governor Abbott will be lifting the mask mandate for Texas on June 5th. To avoid any confusion, we wanted to let you know that all of our precautions, including mask requirements to enter the building, will remain unchanged until June 5th. All of our team will continue to wear masks until June 5th, and temperatures will be taken on entry.
Thank you for your understanding, as we continue to follow the CDC safety guidelines.

Covid-19 Safety Procedures
IMPORTANT ADJUSTMENTS TO FORT BEND ISD’S HEALTH AND SAFETY PROTOCOLS
We are aware of Texas Gov. Greg Abbott’s executive order that prohibits governmental entities - including school districts, counties, cities and public health authorities – from mandating or requiring individuals to wear masks. Further, the governor stated that public school districts may continue to follow current masks guidelines through June 4, 2021.
In keeping with the executive order, Fort Bend ISD has adjusted its health and safety protocols concerning masks.
Effective June 5, 2021 students, staff, parents and visitors will no longer be required to wear masks in schools and in District buildings. However, any individual may wear a mask if they choose to do so. Personal choice about mask wearing is to be respected at all times by all staff, students, parents and visitors.
The District will provide additional details associated with changes to other mitigation efforts and protocols soon that may be impacted by the Governor’s recent executive order.
FBISD remains committed to making prudent decisions, no matter how difficult, to keep students, staff, parents and their families as safe as possible.
