My journey began in 2007, utilizing my hands as the tools for wire sculpting unique one of a kind custom jewelry. By incorporating 14k gold, 20%14k rolled gold (a high quality gold filled) and/or 9.99 fine or sterling silver together with precious or semi-precious gemstones, minerals or fossils, along with careful attention to detail for a wearable work of art.

In 2009 I discovered Metal Clay or MC, something not usually used in the same sentence. The excitement of this clay like substance that is malleable and dilutetable to create just like a sculptor would with clay. However  this “silver clay” or “metal clay” has tiny particles of silver mixed with a binder that allows for  the sculpting, carving, pasting together, etc. as the clay dries it goes through stages such as the leather stage, great for carving, and the green stage used for sanding and refining the creation, again just like a sculptor with clay. It then is fired at 1650° for 2 hours in which the binder burns off and the silver particles sinter to become a solid piece of 9.99 silver 9.25 sterling, or even the new 9.60 sterling silver.  I love all the various types of metal clay, the diverse applications, the never-ending potential it has, the ideas shared by the welcoming, warm art community and, the vast bounty of results limited only by the predetermined mind.

I am an award winning artist and owner of Rubicon Custom Jewelry - RCJ. And a proud member of Imperial Art Alliance, Sugar Land Art Center & Gallery,  Impact Artist Project and, Lone Star Art Guild. I love to create beauty in a world that unfortunately is not always so beautiful though both vision and voice.
