The competition is open to artists 18 and older. Original art conceived and created by the entrant will be considered. Employees of SLAC&G will not be eligible.
Registration Begins May 1, 2016
Go to the Sugar Land Art Center Website: www.SugarLandArtCenter.org and print the prospectus and application for the mail-ins and walk-ins. Or, request an application in person at 104 Industrial Blvd., Suite Q Sugar Land TX 77478. Call the main number 281-565-0957 prior to dropping in with CD's and applications.
DO NOT deliver any art to the gallery until you are contacted by the GMT members. Finalists will be asked to bring in those entries and were perjured as finalists. DO NOT bring in your paintings when you walk-in an application. Failure to follow this guideline will result in disqualification.
What we can accept
Entries on canvas no larger than 48" wide by 60" tall
Mounted relief Art - multi-media or sculpted
3D entries under 50 lbs.
Jpeg entries need to be at least 72 DPI in resolution.
Entries must be properly cropped and orientated in a landscape or portrait format.
Framed art may be entered with the frame included in the image.
All entries must be for sale (No NFS entries).
All originals in all mediums (giclee' prints cannot be accepted)
Finalist's entries must be dry and secure on the day of delivery.
Finalists may be qualified to receive one prize level.
Artists may enter online.
Artists may deliver a flash drive/CD and application in person to the competition committee.
Artists may mail-in their entries.
Fees and Payment
The entry fee for each applicant is $30 for the first entry and $10 for each additional entry. One Payment may cover multiple entries for each artist. Sugarland Art Center & Gallery will not be responsible for the loss, damage or return of any CD's submitted to the competition. There will be no refunds of entry fees. US mailed entries and payments must be posted and mailed to:

Images may Not be retouched, enhanced or further painted after they are submitted to the competition. They must match the actual painting or eD entry. Doing alterations after entering the competition can result in disqualification.
ALL FINALISTS WILL BE NOTIFIED BY AUGUST 15, 2016. Winners will be featured in the Sugar Land Art Center Galleries for the month of September, 2016. A reception will feature the finalists and celebrate the winners via announcement during the reception. Sales of art during the month of September will be processed SLAC&G. A 30% commission from all sales will be retained by SLAC&G, a 501c3 non-profit organization. Proceeds will cover prizes, publicity, expenses and future juried events.

Prize money listed is based on the total number of entries consisting of not less than 300 or more. Entries totaling less than 300 can result in prize amount reductions of 50% of the maximum amounts stated in this document.
All artists are responsible for "personal liability insurance" of their entry(s). Every precaution will be taken in handling artwork; however, neither SLAC&G, it's staff members, volunteers or bird members will assume any responsibility for damage, loss or theft during the exhibition, or as a result shipment.
SLAC&G reserves the right to the photography of work or to use the summited images for publicity purposes. Entering this competition will constitute agreement with all conditions set forth within this prospectus. SLAC&G is a 501(c) 3, non-profit organization.
